The Simplicity of Touch

There are many things in life that make us happy.  What I have discovered is that the majority of things that truly make me happy are the small, seemingly insignificant things that happen unexpectedly.  Like holding hands.  One of the greatest tactile expressions in creation is the mutual intertwining of two human hands.  It began with a movie, and two friends sitting on a couch.  Then laughter, and a high-five that settled into my hand in hers.  It was simple, innocent and completely wonderful.

It’s nothing, truly.  But holding the hand of someone special, especially a friend, can humble any man.
