Time Thief

Like an acrobat flailing for a just out of reach trapeze bar

I grasp desperately at each sliver of time spent with you.

The thief of desire selfishly yearns for the precious jewel

Of moments spent near you.

My shallow breath gives away the longing

That lives to hear the aria in your voice.

In my youth, the pursuit was the goal.

But that thrill cannot touch

The completeness of  sitting near you.

Allow me to share a silence and compose myself .

Never end, that is all I ask.  Never end.
