Stream of Consciousness

Just tried a mental writing exercise and wrote this one as it flowed.  I like some of the imagery, so I’ll post it.

Cover my head with embers and ashes

Drill down upon the corners of my mouth

Steel springs from your eyes unravel

And send threads of anguish screaming into my darkness

My breath protests under the weight of millstones

Piled upon my chest

Cry loud with a choking sound

And fall silent
