Everywho

It’s hard work not being important,

You have to wait patiently for things to happen.

The sweat of your brow does not always end in fame and fortune

And you are not the kind to rush out and grab at it anyway.

It’s plenty difficult to be insignificant

To keep plodding and plotting in obscurity.

Let others bask in glory easily gained

You stay here digging your dreams from the dirt.

It’s devilishly rough to be anonymous

When everything tries to point you toward the lights.

Plant your garden near the bend of this river

And camouflage yourself in your work.
