Three Small Words

How could you possibly live up to the perfection of my dreams?

The turn of the head that allows only a part of your face to arrive

The inviting smile and kind words that rain effortlessly from your lips

A hand as soft as rivers of translucent powder that graces itself into mine

The snap and crackle and gentle crash of the tentative kiss

The hinge of your leg making a luxurious turn in the sun

Small beautifulness shared quietly in a darkened room

Pricks of encouragement and lilts of praise for minor victories

Playful meanderings through rain-flecked streets of a distantly familiar village

Soft winds rustling the strands of your hair on the deck of a ship sailing vaguely to discovery

Laughter and sighing and longing and quiet tears and let us settle into the grass together
